En vue d\u2019envisager une perspective diff\u00e9rente sur l\u2019organisation de la mati\u00e8re, nous nous sommes int\u00e9ress\u00e9s au gazon. En effet, cette mati\u00e8re fa\u00e7onne les paysages de nos villes depuis plus de 200 ans : plates-bandes, parcs, terre-pleins, jardins, il est partout. Nous avons essay\u00e9 de comprendre pourquoi et de quelle mani\u00e8re il \u00e9merge sur le territoire. Mais ces \u00ab espaces verts \u00bb sont-ils autre chose que des surfaces g\u00e9n\u00e9riques et neutres o\u00f9 rien ne se passe, des zones blanches dans la ville ?<\/p>

Ces surfaces neutres engazonn\u00e9es recouvrent plus de 20 pour cent du sol de la commune de Ganshoren. Le site de projet choisi est une parcelle de 26.000\u00a0m\u00b2 compos\u00e9e quatre barres de logements reposant sur 15.000\u00a0m\u00b2 de gazon st\u00e9rile. La question est alors la suivante, comment r\u00e9v\u00e9ler les qualit\u00e9s inconscientes du gazon \u00e0 travers ce site ?<\/p>

S\u2019il est envisageable de consid\u00e9rer le gazon comme une mati\u00e8re v\u00e9g\u00e9tale ne poss\u00e9dant aucune qualit\u00e9 \u00e9cosyst\u00e9mique, nous avons pris le parti de le consid\u00e9rer comme un mat\u00e9riau domestiqu\u00e9 et technologique, auquel nous pouvons trouver des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques qualitatives (r\u00e9sistance, perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9, isolation, ...). Nous avons donc constitu\u00e9 un inventaire technique de gazons poss\u00e9dant des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s diverses. Cette pluralit\u00e9 de gazons, nous a permis de d\u00e9finir 5 paysages distincts allant du gazon sauvage de plus d\u2019un m\u00e8tre de haut au gazon sportif ne d\u00e9passant pas une hauteur de 5cm. Chaque paysage induit des usages et des programmes propres au type de gazon qui y est mis en place. Pour permettre une compr\u00e9hension singuli\u00e8re et totale de chaque univers, un s\u00e9quen\u00e7age clair s\u2019impose qui se mat\u00e9rialise par la juxtaposition des paysages h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes.<\/p>

En vue d\u2019envisager une perspective diff\u00e9rente sur l\u2019organisation de la mati\u00e8re, nous nous sommes int\u00e9ress\u00e9s au gazon. En effet, cette mati\u00e8re fa\u00e7onne les paysages de nos villes depuis plus de 200 ans : plates-bandes, parcs, terre-pleins, jardins, il est partout. Nous avons essay\u00e9 de comprendre pourquoi et de quelle mani\u00e8re il \u00e9merge sur le territoire. Mais ces \u00ab espaces verts \u00bb sont-ils autre chose que des surfaces g\u00e9n\u00e9riques et neutres o\u00f9 rien ne se passe, des zones blanches dans la ville ?<\/p>

Ces surfaces neutres engazonn\u00e9es recouvrent plus de 20 pour cent du sol de la commune de Ganshoren. Le site de projet choisi est une parcelle de 26.000\u00a0m\u00b2 compos\u00e9e quatre barres de logements reposant sur 15.000\u00a0m\u00b2 de gazon st\u00e9rile. La question est alors la suivante, comment r\u00e9v\u00e9ler les qualit\u00e9s inconscientes du gazon \u00e0 travers ce site ?<\/p>

S\u2019il est envisageable de consid\u00e9rer le gazon comme une mati\u00e8re v\u00e9g\u00e9tale ne poss\u00e9dant aucune qualit\u00e9 \u00e9cosyst\u00e9mique, nous avons pris le parti de le consid\u00e9rer comme un mat\u00e9riau domestiqu\u00e9 et technologique, auquel nous pouvons trouver des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques qualitatives (r\u00e9sistance, perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9, isolation, ...). Nous avons donc constitu\u00e9 un inventaire technique de gazons poss\u00e9dant des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s diverses. Cette pluralit\u00e9 de gazons, nous a permis de d\u00e9finir 5 paysages distincts allant du gazon sauvage de plus d\u2019un m\u00e8tre de haut au gazon sportif ne d\u00e9passant pas une hauteur de 5cm. Chaque paysage induit des usages et des programmes propres au type de gazon qui y est mis en place. Pour permettre une compr\u00e9hension singuli\u00e8re et totale de chaque univers, un s\u00e9quen\u00e7age clair s\u2019impose qui se mat\u00e9rialise par la juxtaposition des paysages h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes.<\/p>
