L\\u2019atelier CUMA poursuit depuis plusieurs ann\\u00e9es un cycle de r\\u00e9flexion visant l\\u2019impact du \\u201cchangement de r\\u00e9gime climatique\\u201d et ses effets sur notre discipline tant dans un \\u00e9largissement des acteurs concern\\u00e9s (humains, non humains) que dans le r\\u00f4le de la mat\\u00e9rialit\\u00e9 comme agent actif du processus de conception architecturale. L\\u2019atelier prend appui sur de nombreux auteurs (entre autres Haraway, Stengers, Latour), de conf\\u00e9rences et de projets prenant la mesure de l\\u2019\\u00e9tat du monde depuis que l\\u2019\\u00e9quipe du MIT de Dennis Meadows a publi\\u00e9 en 1972 son rapport intitul\\u00e9 \\u00ab\\u00a0The Limits to Growth\\u00a0\\u00bb.\\u00a0CUMA propose de s\\u2019interroger d\\u2019une part sur la capacit\\u00e9 sp\\u00e9culative de l\\u2019architecture, sa capacit\\u00e9 \\u00e0 faire penser et, d\\u2019autre part de questionner notre rapport avec la mati\\u00e8re au sens large.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Depuis plusieurs ann\\u00e9es, l\\u2019atelier propose un d\\u00e9centrement vis-\\u00e0-vis des mani\\u00e8res de lire les territoires (Pajottenland, Mouscron, Ganshoren, Vesdre). A l\\u2019inverse d\\u2019une lecture anthropocentr\\u00e9e et utilitariste h\\u00e9rit\\u00e9e des traditions de l\\u2019urbanisme occidental il s\\u2019agit d\\u2019apporter une attention accrue \\u00e0 la place des acteurs non-humains, plantes, mat\\u00e9riaux et pratiques minoritaires. Ces non-humains sont extirp\\u00e9s de leur passivit\\u00e9 et de leur statut de simple moyen et \\u00e9lev\\u00e9 \\u00e0 un r\\u00f4le actif exigeant respect et une attention renouvel\\u00e9e. Ainsi l\\u2019asphalte, la brique, les haies, l\\u2019eau de pluie, un marais, une carri\\u00e8re de pierre abandonn\\u00e9e, les rebus de chantier etc. sont saisis comme des entr\\u00e9es dans la compr\\u00e9hension de l\\u2019histoire et du caract\\u00e8re particulier d\\u2019un territoire.<\\\/p>

\\u00c9vitant la posture de la critique comme celle de l\\u2019utopie, s\\u2019interdisant le jeu fascinant de la fiction ou celui ais\\u00e9 de la d\\u00e9nonciation, CUMA propose aux \\u00e9tudiants de faire l\\u2019exercice engag\\u00e9 de la narration sp\\u00e9culative avec une question simple\\u00a0: comment nos territoires accueillent les enjeux et cons\\u00e9quences des mutations \\u00e9cologiques en devenir\\u00a0?\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Cette ann\\u00e9e l\\u2019atelier a travaill\\u00e9 pendant un an sur la question de l\\u2019eau \\u00e0 partir de la vall\\u00e9e de la Vesdre qui a subi l\\u2019\\u00e9t\\u00e9 dernier de dramatiques inondations, en partie explicables par une perte de la connaissance des puissances sp\\u00e9cifiques \\u00e0 l\\u2019eau. Cette connaissance fine d\\u2019un \\u00e9l\\u00e9ment essentiel s\\u2019est perdue dans sa r\\u00e9duction \\u00e0 une contrainte technique pr\\u00e9sentant ci et l\\u00e0 quelques vertus paysag\\u00e8res. Qui sait encore d'o\\u00f9 vient l\\u2019eau ? O\\u00f9 s\\u2019\\u00e9coule-elle ? A qui appartient-elle ?\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Au premier quadrimestre, nous avons utilis\\u00e9 nos comp\\u00e9tences d\\u2019architectes pour illustrer les modes d\\u2019\\u00eatre de l\\u2019eau, et fabriquer un imaginaire partageable avec les acteurs locaux.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Les masters ont d\\u00e9ploy\\u00e9 au moyen de cartes, atlas et maquettes les multiples r\\u00e9cits de l\\u2019eau dans la vall\\u00e9e de la Vesdre, \\u00e0 partir de th\\u00e9matiques comme l\\u2019eau potable, les eaux grises, l\\u2019eau loisir, l\\u2019eau \\u00e9nergie, l\\u2019hydrog\\u00e9ologie, l\\u2019eau terraform\\u00e9e, l\\u2019inondation etc.<\\\/p>

Les bacheliers ont construit un atlas de r\\u00e9f\\u00e9rences architecturales et urbaines pour approfondir le lien qu'entretiennent l\\u2019architecture et l\\u2019eau dans notre discipline, constituant un panorama des interactions spatiales et techniques entre eau et architecture.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Au second quadrimestre, les \\u00e9tudiants ont \\u00e9t\\u00e9 invit\\u00e9s \\u00e0 d\\u00e9velopper un sc\\u00e9nario sp\\u00e9culatif de projet sur un territoire choisi le long des 70 km de la Vesdre\\u00a0avec comme seule contrainte d\\u2019exercice d\\u2019\\u00e9difier une plateforme collective qui fait de l\\u2019eau le premier agent du projet construit.<\\\/p>

L\\u2019atelier CUMA poursuit depuis plusieurs ann\\u00e9es un cycle de r\\u00e9flexion visant l\\u2019impact du \\u201cchangement de r\\u00e9gime climatique\\u201d et ses effets sur notre discipline tant dans un \\u00e9largissement des acteurs concern\\u00e9s (humains, non humains) que dans le r\\u00f4le de la mat\\u00e9rialit\\u00e9 comme agent actif du processus de conception architecturale. L\\u2019atelier prend appui sur de nombreux auteurs (entre autres Haraway, Stengers, Latour), de conf\\u00e9rences et de projets prenant la mesure de l\\u2019\\u00e9tat du monde depuis que l\\u2019\\u00e9quipe du MIT de Dennis Meadows a publi\\u00e9 en 1972 son rapport intitul\\u00e9 \\u00ab\\u00a0The Limits to Growth\\u00a0\\u00bb.\\u00a0CUMA propose de s\\u2019interroger d\\u2019une part sur la capacit\\u00e9 sp\\u00e9culative de l\\u2019architecture, sa capacit\\u00e9 \\u00e0 faire penser et, d\\u2019autre part de questionner notre rapport avec la mati\\u00e8re au sens large.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Depuis plusieurs ann\\u00e9es, l\\u2019atelier propose un d\\u00e9centrement vis-\\u00e0-vis des mani\\u00e8res de lire les territoires (Pajottenland, Mouscron, Ganshoren, Vesdre). A l\\u2019inverse d\\u2019une lecture anthropocentr\\u00e9e et utilitariste h\\u00e9rit\\u00e9e des traditions de l\\u2019urbanisme occidental il s\\u2019agit d\\u2019apporter une attention accrue \\u00e0 la place des acteurs non-humains, plantes, mat\\u00e9riaux et pratiques minoritaires. Ces non-humains sont extirp\\u00e9s de leur passivit\\u00e9 et de leur statut de simple moyen et \\u00e9lev\\u00e9 \\u00e0 un r\\u00f4le actif exigeant respect et une attention renouvel\\u00e9e. Ainsi l\\u2019asphalte, la brique, les haies, l\\u2019eau de pluie, un marais, une carri\\u00e8re de pierre abandonn\\u00e9e, les rebus de chantier etc. sont saisis comme des entr\\u00e9es dans la compr\\u00e9hension de l\\u2019histoire et du caract\\u00e8re particulier d\\u2019un territoire.<\\\/p>

\\u00c9vitant la posture de la critique comme celle de l\\u2019utopie, s\\u2019interdisant le jeu fascinant de la fiction ou celui ais\\u00e9 de la d\\u00e9nonciation, CUMA propose aux \\u00e9tudiants de faire l\\u2019exercice engag\\u00e9 de la narration sp\\u00e9culative avec une question simple\\u00a0: comment nos territoires accueillent les enjeux et cons\\u00e9quences des mutations \\u00e9cologiques en devenir\\u00a0?\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Cette ann\\u00e9e l\\u2019atelier a travaill\\u00e9 pendant un an sur la question de l\\u2019eau \\u00e0 partir de la vall\\u00e9e de la Vesdre qui a subi l\\u2019\\u00e9t\\u00e9 dernier de dramatiques inondations, en partie explicables par une perte de la connaissance des puissances sp\\u00e9cifiques \\u00e0 l\\u2019eau. Cette connaissance fine d\\u2019un \\u00e9l\\u00e9ment essentiel s\\u2019est perdue dans sa r\\u00e9duction \\u00e0 une contrainte technique pr\\u00e9sentant ci et l\\u00e0 quelques vertus paysag\\u00e8res. Qui sait encore d'o\\u00f9 vient l\\u2019eau ? O\\u00f9 s\\u2019\\u00e9coule-elle ? A qui appartient-elle ?\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Au premier quadrimestre, nous avons utilis\\u00e9 nos comp\\u00e9tences d\\u2019architectes pour illustrer les modes d\\u2019\\u00eatre de l\\u2019eau, et fabriquer un imaginaire partageable avec les acteurs locaux.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Les masters ont d\\u00e9ploy\\u00e9 au moyen de cartes, atlas et maquettes les multiples r\\u00e9cits de l\\u2019eau dans la vall\\u00e9e de la Vesdre, \\u00e0 partir de th\\u00e9matiques comme l\\u2019eau potable, les eaux grises, l\\u2019eau loisir, l\\u2019eau \\u00e9nergie, l\\u2019hydrog\\u00e9ologie, l\\u2019eau terraform\\u00e9e, l\\u2019inondation etc.<\\\/p>

Les bacheliers ont construit un atlas de r\\u00e9f\\u00e9rences architecturales et urbaines pour approfondir le lien qu'entretiennent l\\u2019architecture et l\\u2019eau dans notre discipline, constituant un panorama des interactions spatiales et techniques entre eau et architecture.\\u00a0<\\\/p>

Au second quadrimestre, les \\u00e9tudiants ont \\u00e9t\\u00e9 invit\\u00e9s \\u00e0 d\\u00e9velopper un sc\\u00e9nario sp\\u00e9culatif de projet sur un territoire choisi le long des 70 km de la Vesdre\\u00a0avec comme seule contrainte d\\u2019exercice d\\u2019\\u00e9difier une plateforme collective qui fait de l\\u2019eau le premier agent du projet construit.<\\\/p>
