Pour implanter une \u00e9cole de cirque, il nous a \u00e9t\u00e9 demand\u00e9 de choisir parmi trois parcelles propos\u00e9es. Mon choix s\u2019est port\u00e9 sur la parcelle 2, pr\u00e9sentant \u00e0 mon sens des qualit\u00e9s que les autres parcelles n\u2019avaient pas, notamment la relation avec le marais et un b\u00e2timent mitoyen qui m\u2019a fortement int\u00e9ress\u00e9e. Cette parcelle fait partie du site de l\u2019ancienne brasserie Wiels, qui fit faillite apr\u00e8s la Seconde Guerre mondiale et dont beaucoup de b\u00e2timents ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truits. Quelques ann\u00e9es suivant la faillit\u00e9 une entreprise ach\u00e8te le terrain, et d\u00e9cide d\u2019y construire des logements. Ce chantier a \u00e9t\u00e9est pourtant rapidement interrompu, car une nappe phr\u00e9atique a \u00e9t\u00e9 perfor\u00e9e (qui aujourd\u2019hui constitue le marais Wiels).<\/p>

L\u2019une de mes volont\u00e9s fut de conserver cet espace vert naturel qui manque cruellement dans Bruxelles. L\u2019histoire de la parcelle m\u2019a \u00e9galement pouss\u00e9e \u00e0 faire une recherche typologique des b\u00e2timents industriels qui \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents sur le site avant leurs d\u00e9molitions.<\/p>

L\u2019\u00e9cole de cirque est un lieu de vie, de mouvement, de partage et de continuelle \u00e9volution. Pour garder cette union au sein du b\u00e2timent et garder cette relation entre le public et les \u00e9tudiants, j\u2019ai opt\u00e9 pour une architecture qui s\u2019\u00e9tale sur toute la longueur de la parcelle, venant chercher les deux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s, sous forme d\u2019une trame a 3 parties de hauteurs diff\u00e9rente. Les escaliers, qui permettent de passer d\u2019un niveau \u00e0 un autre, deviennent espaces de d\u00e9tente sous forme de gradins. Cet agencement cr\u00e9e des espaces propices \u00e0 la rencontre ainsi que des espaces plus priv\u00e9s d\u00e9di\u00e9s aux \u00e9tudiants et \u00e0 la gestion. L\u2019inflexion du volume au rez-de-chauss\u00e9e invite le public \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans l\u2019\u00e9cole, par l\u2019espace d\u2019accueil qui donne directement sur l\u2019espace de convivialit\u00e9 en contrebas, et qui s\u2019ouvre s\u2019ouvre \u00e0 son tour sur une grande esplanade propice \u00e0 des repr\u00e9sentations en ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>

Les toitures des deux volumes saillants, qui abritent deux salles d\u2019entra\u00eenements, rem\u00e9morent les pass\u00e9 industriels du site. Cette toiture permet une ma\u00eetrise de la lumi\u00e8re qui y p\u00e9n\u00e8tre ainsi qu\u2019une structure adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 la suspension de mat\u00e9riel d\u2019entra\u00eenement. Ces deux espaces sont reli\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une passerelle qui inclut l\u2019espace administratif. Un ascenseur et des rampes sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans la composition, permettant un acc\u00e8s aux personnes \u00e0 mobilit\u00e9 r\u00e9duite.<\/p>\",\r\n \"align\": \"top\",\r\n \"row\": -1,\r\n Pour implanter une \u00e9cole de cirque, il nous a \u00e9t\u00e9 demand\u00e9 de choisir parmi trois parcelles propos\u00e9es. Mon choix s\u2019est port\u00e9 sur la parcelle 2, pr\u00e9sentant \u00e0 mon sens des qualit\u00e9s que les autres parcelles n\u2019avaient pas, notamment la relation avec le marais et un b\u00e2timent mitoyen qui m\u2019a fortement int\u00e9ress\u00e9e. Cette parcelle fait partie du site de l\u2019ancienne brasserie Wiels, qui fit faillite apr\u00e8s la Seconde Guerre mondiale et dont beaucoup de b\u00e2timents ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truits. Quelques ann\u00e9es suivant la faillit\u00e9 une entreprise ach\u00e8te le terrain, et d\u00e9cide d\u2019y construire des logements. Ce chantier a \u00e9t\u00e9est pourtant rapidement interrompu, car une nappe phr\u00e9atique a \u00e9t\u00e9 perfor\u00e9e (qui aujourd\u2019hui constitue le marais Wiels).<\/p>

L\u2019une de mes volont\u00e9s fut de conserver cet espace vert naturel qui manque cruellement dans Bruxelles. L\u2019histoire de la parcelle m\u2019a \u00e9galement pouss\u00e9e \u00e0 faire une recherche typologique des b\u00e2timents industriels qui \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents sur le site avant leurs d\u00e9molitions.<\/p>

L\u2019\u00e9cole de cirque est un lieu de vie, de mouvement, de partage et de continuelle \u00e9volution. Pour garder cette union au sein du b\u00e2timent et garder cette relation entre le public et les \u00e9tudiants, j\u2019ai opt\u00e9 pour une architecture qui s\u2019\u00e9tale sur toute la longueur de la parcelle, venant chercher les deux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s, sous forme d\u2019une trame a 3 parties de hauteurs diff\u00e9rente. Les escaliers, qui permettent de passer d\u2019un niveau \u00e0 un autre, deviennent espaces de d\u00e9tente sous forme de gradins. Cet agencement cr\u00e9e des espaces propices \u00e0 la rencontre ainsi que des espaces plus priv\u00e9s d\u00e9di\u00e9s aux \u00e9tudiants et \u00e0 la gestion. L\u2019inflexion du volume au rez-de-chauss\u00e9e invite le public \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans l\u2019\u00e9cole, par l\u2019espace d\u2019accueil qui donne directement sur l\u2019espace de convivialit\u00e9 en contrebas, et qui s\u2019ouvre s\u2019ouvre \u00e0 son tour sur une grande esplanade propice \u00e0 des repr\u00e9sentations en ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>

Les toitures des deux volumes saillants, qui abritent deux salles d\u2019entra\u00eenements, rem\u00e9morent les pass\u00e9 industriels du site. Cette toiture permet une ma\u00eetrise de la lumi\u00e8re qui y p\u00e9n\u00e8tre ainsi qu\u2019une structure adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 la suspension de mat\u00e9riel d\u2019entra\u00eenement. Ces deux espaces sont reli\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une passerelle qui inclut l\u2019espace administratif.
