Nous pensons qu\u2019une des mani\u00e8res de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir le futur est l\u2019imagination et la propsection, posant ses fondations sur une base scientifique afin d\u2019en extraire de possibles sc\u00e9narios. Aujourd\u2019hui d\u00e9munie de sa ferveur r\u00e9volutionnaire, l\u2019utopie architecturale ne semble plus envisager la tabula rasa comme programme d\u2019ex\u00e9cution mais elle souhaite s\u2019immiscer dans des principes d\u2019interventions sur les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s urbaines, dans la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes, parfois m\u00eame dans la qu\u00eate d\u2019identit\u00e9. Elle n\u2019est nulle part mais il est peut-\u00eatre important de la consid\u00e9rer partout, au c\u0153ur des r\u00e9flexions urbaines, sociales et architecturales. \u00ab <em>La conqu\u00eate du globe \u00e9puisant les espaces, l\u2019utopie se projette dans le futur, la fiction ou assume plus clairement l\u2019alternative utopique comme un exercice de raison<\/em> \u00bb. L\u2019utopie appara\u00eet donc comme un ensemble d\u2019aires par excellence de l\u2019expression des possibles. Le projet n\u2019a donc pas pour but d\u2019\u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 mais il cherche plut\u00f4t \u00e0 frapper l\u2019imagination, d\u2019apporter une r\u00e9flexion sur un des nombreux potentiels sc\u00e9narios qu\u2019Alost pourrait conna\u00eetre. L\u2019Homme est l\u2019esp\u00e8ce qui a eu le plus gros impact sur l\u2019environnement en 200 ans l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les \u00e8res g\u00e9ologiques s\u2019\u00e9talent historiquement sur quelques millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es, les changements climatiques sont donc rapides et cons\u00e9quents. En lisant certaines recherches scientifiques, le taux de co2 dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re a battu un record anciennement atteint il y a 3 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es. L\u2019augmentation de la temp\u00e9rature nous m\u00e8nerait alors \u00e0 regarder la disposition des oc\u00e9ans il y a 5 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es comme \u00e9tant la prochaine r\u00e9organisation des territoires mondiaux. Si l\u2019on s\u2019accorde \u00e0 ces recherches, la majorit\u00e9 du territoire belge, dont Alost, se verrait inond\u00e9e de toute part. De plus, les situations g\u00e9ographiques et topographiques font d\u2019Alost, qui est situ\u00e9 au creux de plusieurs vall\u00e9es, une zone tout particuli\u00e8rement inondable. Il est donc n\u00e9cessaire de r\u00e9interroger les besoins primaires de l\u2019Homme : Comment cultiver ? Comment habiter ? Comment circuler ? Comment recr\u00e9er du lien sur un sol que nous ne connaissons plus ? Aujourd\u2019hui d\u00e9munie de sa ferveur r\u00e9volutionnaire, l\u2019utopie architecturale ne semble plus envisager la tabula rasa comme programme d\u2019ex\u00e9cution mais elle souhaite s\u2019immiscer dans des principes d\u2019interventions sur les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s urbaines, dans la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes, parfois m\u00eame dans la qu\u00eate d\u2019identit\u00e9. L\u2019augmentation de la temp\u00e9rature nous m\u00e8nerait alors \u00e0 regarder la disposition des oc\u00e9ans il y a 5 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es comme \u00e9tant la prochaine r\u00e9organisation des territoires mondiaux. Si l\u2019on s\u2019accorde \u00e0 ces recherches, la majorit\u00e9 du territoire belge, dont Alost, se verrait inond\u00e9e de toute part.
